Deze EMN inform schetst benaderingen, ervaringen en beste praktijken bij het monitoren, detecteren en aanpakken van het misbruik van verblijfsvergunningen in de EU voor studiedoeleinden.

Het EMN heeft in samenwerking met de OESO een nieuwe inform gepubliceerd: "Skills Mobility Partnerships: Exploring Innovative Approaches to Labour Migration" gepubliceerd. Deze informatie belicht de ervaringen van EU-lidstaten, niet-EU-landen en internationale organisaties met de uitvoering van Skills Mobility partnerschappen, een nieuw concept dat een duurzame benadering van migratie van geschoolde arbeidskrachten bevordert, met als doel vaardigheden op te bouwen ten voordele van zowel de landen van herkomst als de landen van bestemming.

Kunnen digitale diensten het beheer van migratie- en asielprocessen verbeteren? Dit gezamenlijke EMN-OESO-rapport richt zich specifiek op gebieden binnen de asiel-, migratie- en naturalisatieprocedures, evenals op grenscontrolebeheer, waar digitale technologieën kunnen worden ingezet.

This new report from the European Migration Network (EMN) provides an overview of the progress made during 2020 in the implementation of the recommendations laid out in the 2017 Communication on the protection of children in migration and is the second edition of a series of reports developed by the EMN.

This comparative report provides an overview of the use of digital tools and remote working methods in asylum processes in 23 European countries. It questions the risks and benefits of such use and highlights several fundamental guarantees and procedural safeguards which must continue to apply to ensure that they do not infringe the existing CEAS framework.

On 20 July 2021, the European Migration Network (EMN) published an overview of Member States’ experiences with new legal pathways in the areas of Talent Partnerships and complementary work-related pathways for those in need of international protection.

De ontwikkelingen inzake databeheer kenden in de laatste jaren een hoge vlucht, niet in het minst bij de overheidsinstellingen die verantwoordelijk zijn voor het verlenen van internationale bescherming, waar o.a. een verhoogde influx van verzoeken om internationale bescherming en de COVID-19 pandemie de druk verhoogden om op een efficiënte wijze data te beheren. EMN onderzocht de situatie en de ontwikkelingen op vlak van data management in de asielprocedure tussen 2014 en 2020, evenals het gecreëerde wettelijk kader hieromtrent. Aanvullend publiceerde EMN België een eigen studie, die het beheer van data in de Belgische asielprocedure specifiek uitlicht.

This paper provides an overview of EU initiatives on developing and deploying artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to improve border control and border security.

What kind of data is collected by EU Member States and Norway and how is the data managed in the different phases of the asylum procedure? This new EMN Study provides comparable information and examples from 25 countries on different aspects of data management, including data cross-checking against national and international databases, data quality accuracy, and data protection issues. It also maps challenges encountered, and actions taken to respond to them. The study contributes to capacity-building of experts working in the field of asylum and generates a better understanding of the policies and process in place across Europe.  

The Belgian standalone study will be published in the week of 28 June 2021.

De huidige Belgische regering, die sinds oktober 2020 aan de macht is, heeft aangekondigd dat zij de Vreemdelingenwet zal vervangen door een nieuwe migratiecode. In dit kader heeft EMN België informatie verzameld over de structuur van de nationale migratiewetten van andere lidstaten en de terminologie die wordt gebruikt voor migratiebeleid, -onderwerpen en -instellingen. De resultaten hiervan zijn gebundeld en samengevat.

Het jaarlijks rapport van het EMN geeft een overzicht van de belangrijkste ontwikkelingen op het vlak van migratie en asiel in België en in de EU in 2020.
