Ce rapport recense les usages existants des nouvelles technologies dans les systèmes européens d’immigration et d’asile, tant au niveau national qu’au niveau européen. Il s’agit du premier résultat du projet "Algorithmic Fairness and Asylum Seekers and Refugees" (AFAR), financé par la Fondation Volkswagen.

Myria, le Centre fédéral migration et rapporteur national indépendant sur la traite des êtres humains, publie le 7 décembre 2022 son rapport annuel public et indépendant "Piégés par la dette".

Ce document de travail s’oppose à la détention des mineurs fondée sur la règlementation relative à l'immigration, même utilisée comme mesure de dernier recours, et il demande la mise en œuvre d'alternatives à la détention significatives pendant les procédures de retour. Il recommande également de rendre obligatoire la collecte de données sur cette question.

En 2022, la Belgique a fait l'objet du troisième cycle d'évaluation de la mise en œuvre de la Convention du Conseil de l'Europe sur la lutte contre la traite des êtres humains. Ce rapport analyse en détail comment les autorités belges garantissent l'accès à la justice et à des recours effectifs pour les victimes de la traite des êtres humains.

L’utilisation de la migration comme une sorte d’arme par les États et les acteurs non-étatiques pour atteindre leurs différents objectifs s’est accrue. L’objectif de la présente étude est de sensibiliser les lecteurs en créant un cadre conceptuel pour la «militarisation de la migration», un phénomène qui n’a pas encore été suffisamment étudié sur le plan académique.

Ce rapport comparatif donne un aperçu de l’utilisation des outils numériques et des méthodes de travail à distance dans les processus d’asile dans 23 pays européens. Il remet en question les risques et les bénéfices d’une telle utilisation et met en lumière plusieurs garanties fondamentales et garanties procédurales qui doivent continuer à s’appliquer pour s’assurer qu’elles n’enfreignent pas le cadre existant du RAEC.

The handbook on migration reporting was produced to help journalists create impartial, fact-based reporting in an engaging way. The handbook was developed in recognition of the role which media plays in shaping public opinion as well as informing the public on various policies on migration.

Centre fédéral migration et rapporteur national indépendant sur la traite des êtres humains, Myria publie le 15 décembre 2020 son rapport annuel public et indépendant "Derrière des portes closes".

Ce rapport du Centre fédéral Migration Myria analyse le phénomène de la migration de transit vers le Royaume-Uni depuis la Belgique. Myria plaide pour des politiques plus claires dans ce domaine et ce, dans le respect des droits fondamentaux des migrants en transit.

The PROTECT – Preventing sexual and gender-based violence against migrants and strengthening support to victims project aims to support the coordination and/or adaptation of support services for sexual and gender-based violence victims and potential victims among refugees, migrants and asylum seekers (children and adults, including LGBTQI people). It is funded by the European Union's Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme (2014-2020).

In its latest report, the Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre KCE has outlined the options for a more equitable access to health care for asylum seekers in Belgium.

Working on a research project entitled 'Public opinion, mobilizations and policies concerning asylum seekers and refugees in anti-immigrant times' (Europe and Belgium), funded by the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office (Belspo) as part of its BRAIN-be research, a team of researchers from ULB, ULiège and KU Leuven have studied people's attitudes, discourses and mobilisation towards refugees in six European countries (Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Greece and Hungary) from 2017 to 2019.

The UN Development Programme (UNDP) report, Scaling Fences: Voices of Irregular African Migrants to Europe published on 18 October 2019, sets out to find out why those who put themselves in the hands of people smugglers, and put themselves in other vulnerable positions to cross borders, make the decision to leave home avoiding formal immigration procedures, in the first place.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) published a report on the protection of unaccompanied and separated children in Belgium. The report describes the current state of affairs and provides policy recommendations to reinforce the protection of this vulnerable category of foreign nationals.

This brochure is entitled 'Action for Europe. EU projects to enhance security and effectively manage migration' and provides a snapshot into how some Union actions are addressing today’s migration and security challenges. It showcases the work being done. The snapshot is complemented by factsheets on individual Union actions.

This report provides a quantitative overview of migration in rural areas for the entire EU. It contributes to raising awareness of the poorly studied phenomenon of migration to EU rural areas, which is often neglected in research and policies.

This MPI Europe report explores the various forms of predeparture orientation programs offered by resettlement countries. It focuses on important design questions and identifies a set of features shared by effective programs.

A new report published by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung shows how attitudes across Europe have changed before and after the 2015 migration ‘crisis’ and tries to explain what has driven those changes. Using data from the European Social Survey, the report’s authors find that, overall, perceptions of migration have remained both neutral and stable before and after the ‘crisis’. But there are a few countries that have become significantly more positive about migrants, as well as a few that have become significantly more negative.

Le Point de Contact Belge du Réseau Européen des Migrations a mis à jour l'organigramme décrivant le cadre institutionnel des politiques d'immigration et d'asile en Belgique.

This final report, realised by the Study and Policy Unit of the Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (Fedasil), describes the reception of vulnerable applicants for international protection with specific needs. It discusses how (field) staff define, identify and respond to vulnerability in practice. The objective is to develop a better understanding of the way in which Fedasil and its reception partners fulfill the requirement of Belgian and European legislation to meet the specific needs of applicants for international protection.
