The Fedasil Pondrôme reception centre will host a photo exhibition featuring the work of unaccompanied and accompanied minors. The images were created over an eighteen-month project led by CIDJ Rochefort–Beauraing. The exhibition provides insight into the daily lives, experiences, and identities of the young participants. The event is free, open to all, and offers an opportunity to meet the creators.

Fedasil has a budget for financing specific projects relating to the reception of asylum seekers (and other reception beneficiaries). The Agency has launched its call for projects for the year 2025. In 2025, the focus will be on projects that focus on support, activation, and housing.

Eerstelijnswerkers krijgen in hun job soms te maken met verzoekers van internationale bescherming met een trauma, met conflicten, spanningen en zelfs persoonlijke veiligheidsrisico's. Bijgevolg worden ze blootgesteld aan een hoog risico op persoonlijke stress en burn-outs, depressie, trauma en andere mentale gezondheidsproblemen. Deze conferentie wil nationale en Europese stakeholders samenbrengen om ervaringen, uitdagingen en praktische oplossingen te bespreken.

The Expert Conference, that is jointly hosted by Belgium’s Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (Fedasil), and the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA), in cooperation with the Migration Policy Institute Europe (MPI Europe), aims to explore multi-stakeholder strategies in three specific areas: reception, information provision, and pre-integration.

The International Knowledge Platform of the Dutch Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) organises a two-day hybrid international event on sustainable asylum reception. Based on presentations, lectures, and inspiring examples, discussions will focus on the asylum reception centre of the future.

Het openen van opvangplaatsen in jouw gemeente kan veel vragen oproepen. Op donderdagvoormiddag 30 maart organiseert Vluchtelingenwerk Vlaanderen een lerend netwerkmoment voor solidaire steden en gemeenten waar uitdagingen en beste praktijken in verband met de opening van een opvangcentrum zullen besproken worden.

How can we create flexible housing capacities for asylum applicants and beneficiaries of international protection? This conference will gather national and international experts to discuss challenges, good practices and lessons learnt when it comes to dealing with pressures on the asylum housing system, both in the context of international and temporary protection.

Fedasil presenteert in zijn Balans 2019 de belangrijkste gebeurtenissen en cijfers over opvang, vrijwillige terugkeer en hervestiging van het voorbije jaar. Het overzicht toont een toename van het aantal personen dat werd opgevangen en voor wie vorig jaar meer dan 5000 tijdelijke plaatsen werden geopend. 

Op 10 december 2019 organiseert EMN België zijn jaarlijks policy event over asiel en migratie, waarbij recente nationale en EU ontwikkelingen op het vlak van internationale bescherming, legale migratie en integratie en irreguliere migratie en terugkeer worden besproken.

What future for the Dublin system ? Will this new regulation make it more efficient, fair and respectful of fundamental rights ? These questions will be addressed during the debate organized by the Odysseus Academic Network.

This MPI webinar aims at discussing what it takes to set up and manage an asylum reception system that can simultaneously meet the demands of flexibility, quality, and efficiency.
