This EMN study aims to identify challenges, best practices and positive experiences in different Member States and Norway on the impact of visa liberalisation. The study covers Western Balkan and Eastern Partnership countries which have successfully concluded visa liberalisation dialogues according to the relevant action plans and roadmaps.

The October Report of the Migration Policy Institute focuses on immigrant investor programs and the policymakers’ responses to immigrant investors’ increasing needs and demands, in particular visa and citizenship.

Dit syntheserapport vat de voornaamste bevindingen samen van de nationale rapporten voor de EMN-studie over visabeleid als migratiekanaal. Dit onderzoek werd uitgevoerd door de nationale contactpunten van 21 lidstaten van de EU.

De studie analyseert de impact van het visabeleid op legale en niet-legale migratie in België. De studie bespreekt korte verblijfsvisa van max. 3 maanden en D visa's voor verblijven van meer dan 3 maanden.

The Justice and Home Affairs Council took place in Brussels on 9 and 10 March 2023. Ministers inter alia discussed the internal and external aspects of migration and the overall state of the Schengen area.

On 11 November 2014, the European Commission has released its 6th bi-annual report on the functioning of the Schengen area covering the period from 1 May to 31 October 2014.

The Commission presented two proposals today to greatly facilitate the procedures for short-stay visitors. Important changes in the visa rules aim to stimulate the European economy and facilitate the lives of travellers towards the EU.
