Il remet en question les risques et les bénéfices d’une telle utilisation et met en lumière plusieurs garanties fondamentales et garanties procédurales qui doivent continuer à s’appliquer pour s’assurer qu’elles n’enfreignent pas le cadre existant du RAEC.

The PROTECT – Preventing sexual and gender-based violence against migrants and strengthening support to victims project aims to support the coordination and/or adaptation of support services for sexual and gender-based violence victims and potential victims among refugees, migrants and asylum seekers (children and adults, including LGBTQI people). It is funded by the European Union's Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme (2014-2020).

In its latest report, the Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre KCE has outlined the options for a more equitable access to health care for asylum seekers in Belgium.

Working on a research project entitled 'Public opinion, mobilizations and policies concerning asylum seekers and refugees in anti-immigrant times' (Europe and Belgium), funded by the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office (Belspo) as part of its BRAIN-be research, a team of researchers from ULB, ULiège and KU Leuven have studied people's attitudes, discourses and mobilisation towards refugees in six European countries (Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Greece and Hungary) from 2017 to 2019.

The UN Development Programme (UNDP) report, Scaling Fences: Voices of Irregular African Migrants to Europe published on 18 October 2019, sets out to find out why those who put themselves in the hands of people smugglers, and put themselves in other vulnerable positions to cross borders, make the decision to leave home avoiding formal immigration procedures, in the first place.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) published a report on the protection of unaccompanied and separated children in Belgium. The report describes the current state of affairs and provides policy recommendations to reinforce the protection of this vulnerable category of foreign nationals.

EU projects to enhance security and effectively manage migration' and provides a snapshot into how some Union actions are addressing today’s migration and security challenges. A new report published by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung shows how attitudes across Europe have changed before and after the 2015 migration ‘crisis’ and tries to explain what has driven those changes. Using data from the European Social Survey, the report’s authors find that, overall, perceptions of migration have remained both neutral and stable before and after the ‘crisis’. But there are a few countries that have become significantly more positive about migrants, as well as a few that have become significantly more negative.

Le Point de Contact Belge du Réseau Européen des Migrations a mis à jour l'organigramme décrivant le cadre institutionnel des politiques d'immigration et d'asile en Belgique.

This final report, realised by the Study and Policy Unit of the Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (Fedasil), describes the reception of vulnerable applicants for international protection with specific needs. It discusses how (field) staff define, identify and respond to vulnerability in practice. The objective is to develop a better understanding of the way in which Fedasil and its reception partners fulfill the requirement of Belgian and European legislation to meet the specific needs of applicants for international protection.

Ce rapport regarde la politique belge liée au retour, à la détention et à l’éloignement des étrangers d’un œil critique et présente des chiffres récents. Dans la lignée de son dernier rapport migration, il se penche plus particulièrement sur les questions liées au droit de vivre en famille des personnes en détention. Myria y formule des recommandations visant à améliorer le respect des droits fondamentaux de ces personnes.

Cette année, Myria consacre l'essentiel de son rapport aux victimes mineurs dans la traite et le trafic des êtres humains.
