The Belrefugees citizen platform, Samusocial and the Belgian Red Cross organize the reception of 140 applicants for international protection

From this Wednesday, the three organizations offer immediate hosting in a building located in Anderlecht to applicants who will later be referred to a reception center from Fedasil.

A week after their evacuation from the “Palais des droits” squat, more than 150 applicants for international protection without accommodation have joined the fifty or so people who are staying in tents in front of the Petit Château. Since last Friday, more than 200 have camped along the canal.

To respond to the urgency, the Belrefugees Citizen Platform, Samusocial and the Belgian Red Cross are joining forces to organize the reception, from this Wednesday, of 140 people in a building located in the municipality of Anderlecht. People are admitted to the center gradually, over a period of three days, in order to allow the teams to organize their reception in the best possible conditions.
