Conference “Unaccompanied Minors in Germany and Europe” (Berlin)

This interesting conference is organised by the German Contact Point of the EMN. It aims to bring together policy-makers, academics and actors from NGOs and administration in Germany and at EU-level. Therefore, the conference covers a wide range of topics ranging from the arrival of unaccompanied minors to the transition to adulthood.

What? 

The conference seeks to answer the following questions: How did politics and practice adapt to the altered situation in the last few years? Does the social participation of unaccompanied minors and young adults succeed? What are the reasons for the potential radicalization of young refugees and how can it be counteracted? In what way does the transition to adulthood need to be organized so that future perspectives can unfold?

In three panels representatives of the European Commission, German Federal Ministries, guests from Italy and Sweden as well as from German civil society will discuss the following topics:

1. Arriving in Times of Changing Imm. Policy - Accommodation and Care Arrangements for Unaccompanied Minors since 2015

2. Deradicalisation and Prevention Work with Unaccompanied Minors

3. Adulthood – and then? Perspectives in Germany and in the Country of Origin
