MPI conference on social innovation for refugee inclusion (Brussels)
The Migration Policy Institute Europe (MPI Europe), the United States Mission to the European Union, the Mission of Canada to the European Union, and the European Economic and Social Committee will organise a conference on 'Social innovation for refugee inclusion: Maintaining momentum and creating lasting change'.
What
This two-day event, which follows up on the Social Innovation for Refugee Inclusion seminar that took place in September 2016, will examine how successful new approaches to support the social and economic inclusion of refugees and asylum seekers can grow beyond pockets of innovation and inspire structural change. This year, a special focus will be on newcomers’ integration in the labour market and the role of the private sector in fostering their employment and advancement.
To encourage new synergies between different stakeholders, the event will bring together a diverse group of public officials, business leaders, service designers, social entrepreneurs, civil society organisations, and refugee initiatives from Europe, the United States, and Canada.
When
Thursday 16 November 2017: 14:30 – 18:30
Friday 17 November 2017: 9:00 – 13:00
