Under the Italian Presidency of the European Union a two days conference on European Migration Policy and Integration is organized in Rome on 17-18 December 2014.

This meeting will discuss the dynamics by which migrants get stuck in low-skilled work, and the role of training and employment services in helping them progress in their occupations.

Since 13 November 2014 and until May 2015, Belgium is chairing the Committee of Ministers, the political decision making organ of the Council of Europe. Under the Belgian Presidency, migration and asylum will be part of the issues tackled.

The Service 'Roma and Travellers' of the Regional Ingetration Centre 'Foyer' in Brussels organise a study day on the topic of Roma living in the Brussels region

The Christian Michelsen Institute published a report commissioned by the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration on the Norwegian Information, Return, and Reintegration of Iraqi Nationals to Iraq (IRRINI) Programme. The research has been done in cooperation with the University of Duhok.

The workshop, held in Geneva, has been jointly organized by three United Nations Regional Commissions as part of the UN project with the same titel, that has been conducted since 2009.

Migrants from third countries represent around four percent of the total EU population. The
composition of EU's population is thus changing. This leads to new conditions for social cohesion and government response to public concerns.

The conference of the King Baudouin Foundation focus on migrants from China, Congo, Morocco and Turkey. The conference will discuss the question if transnational activities are factors of integration or rather segregation.
