EMN Netherlands Conference: Early Integration of Applicants for International Protection

This conference will explore European and Dutch experiences in supporting the early integration of applicants for international protection, with a particular focus on employment, language learning and cultural orientation. Drawing on the findings of a new EMN Inform, the event will bring together policymakers, experts and practitioners to discuss different national approaches, implementation challenges and good practices across Europe.

What

Organised by EMN Netherlands, this conference will focus on early integration measures for applicants for international protection and their role in facilitating inclusion from the earliest stages of the asylum process. The discussions will take place against the backdrop of renewed attention to early integration in the Netherlands and the implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.

The conference will present the findings of the EMN Inform "Early integration of applicants for international protection", providing a comparative overview of policies and practices across EMN Member and Observer Countries. Participants will also hear case studies from several EU Member States illustrating different national approaches to early integration.

The programme will conclude with a panel discussion bringing together Dutch stakeholders and experts from different backgrounds to reflect on their experiences, discuss the evidence presented during the conference and exchange views on the challenges and good practices identified in the EMN Inform.
