This Inform, covering developments across 23 EMN Member Countries, as well as Serbia and Ukraine, explores the types of early integration measures provided in the different countries, their mode of delivery, the authorities responsible for them, and the funding sources. The Inform also looks at the provision of these measures and activities, including the tools used to provide information, facilitate participation and assess the evolving needs of the target audience, while highlighting both effective practices and the challenges countries experience when implementing early integration measures. 

This ad hoc query, which informed the preparation of an EMN Inform, collected information on national approaches to early integration measures for applicants for international protection during the reception phase. It examined the types of measures in place, the authorities involved, funding arrangements, delivery methods and links with mainstream integration programmes. It also explored targeted support for specific groups, communication and evaluation mechanisms, as well as good practices, key implementation challenges and planned policy developments.

This conference will explore European and Dutch experiences in supporting the early integration of applicants for international protection, with a particular focus on employment, language learning and cultural orientation. Drawing on the findings of a new EMN Inform, the event will bring together policymakers, experts and practitioners to discuss different national approaches, implementation challenges and good practices across Europe.
