EPC & Egmont Conference: The New Pact on Migration and Asylum: Unpacking responsibility and solidarity

The Egmont Institute and the European Policy Centre organise a hybrid conference that aims to provide valuable insights into the complexities of the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, focusing on the delicate balance between solidarity and responsibility within the evolving asylum framework of the EU.

What

The conference will address these and further key questions around the New Pact: How can the New Pact manage to ensure compliance with the new rules while also rectifying the existing imbalances? How will the balance between solidarity and responsibility play out in crisis situations? How can the fundamental rights of people on the move be safeguarded, considering the new obligations of Member States?

Structured into two panels, the conference will offer comprehensive insights into the responsibility and solidarity elements of the reforms, fostering a nuanced dialogue around these critical aspects.
