A new reception centre for people with medical problems is operational in Grimbergen

The first 15 asylum seekers have arrived today at the new Fedasil reception centre in Grimbergen. The new reception centre, which will accommodate up to 100 people, is specifically intended for people with medical problems, as well as their families.

Fedasil continues to increase the capacity of its reception network for asylum seekers: a new centre is now operational on the site of the former Orelia Ascot care home in Grimbergen (Flemish Brabant). This is an open center, designed specifically for people with medical problems, as well as their families.

The first 15 asylum seekers arrived this Monday, 4 December 2023. The other residents will arrive gradually over the coming weeks. A team of 24 professionals will provide support in the centre.
