Myria report Trafficking and Smuggling of Human Beings 2018. Minors at major risk

Today the English translation of the latest report on Human Trafficking and Smuggling from Myria was published. The 2018 report focuses on underage victims of trafficking and smuggling of human beings.

The Belgian Federal Migration Centre Myria is part of the National Rapporteur on Human Trafficking mechanism, serving as its independent component.

Its 2018 report focuses on a particularly vulnerable victim group: Nigerian underage girls who are recruited by human traffickers in their homeland to be exploited in prostitution in Europe.The need is high.

Belgium is making progress in the detection, reception and supervision of child victims of human trafficking. One of the most vulnerable groups are the Nigerian underage girls. As an independent National Rapporteur, Myria analyzes the situation and makes recommendations.
