Annual Report trafficking and smuggling of human beings 2018 - Minors in major danger (Myria)

As independent National Rapporteur on trafficking in human beings for Belgium, for over 20 years Myria has carried out a yearly independent policy evaluation. In its latest report on Human Trafficking and Smuggling Myria focuses on underage victims of trafficking and smuggling of human beings.

 

The report focuses on a particularly vulnerable victim group: Nigerian underage girls who are recruited by human traffickers in their homeland to be exploited in prostitution in Europe.The need is high.

Belgium is making progress in the detection, reception and supervision of child victims of human trafficking. One of the most vulnerable groups are the Nigerian underage girls. As an independent National Rapporteur, Myria analyzes the situation and makes recommendations.
