This interesting video explains the different steps of the asylum application of the unaccompanied minor, and the role of the Immigration Office, the Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (Fedasil) and the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons (CGRS).

It also shows that in 2018 no less than 811 unaccompanied minors arrived in Belgium, and that 511 unaccompanied minors were granted international protection in Belgium that year.

They come mainly from Afghanistan, Guinee, Syria, Eritrea and Palestine.
