Fedasil’s dispatching starts with vaccination
On 15th February, a new vaccination campaign has been launched for newly arrived asylum seekers.
A protocol agreement has been signed on 5th February between the State Secretary for Asylum and Migration and the Flemish Minister for Welfare, Public Health and Family for the early vaccination of all asylum seekers. The newly arrived asylum seekers receive, from 15th February, a vaccination against polio, measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough, based upon their country of origin, age and medical situation.
The vaccination is administrated directly after the registration of the asylum seekers, by the medical team of the dispatching of Fedasil. A vaccination campaign starting from the first days of the arrival is important both for the health of asylum seekers and public health.
