It examines EMN Member and Observer Countries’ changes in legislative developments and regulations since 1 January 2020, the prerequisites and requirements embodied in these changes, and the impact of these changes on the procedure for acquiring citizenship.

In honour of the 15-anniversary, EMN has compiled a document spotlighting its most influential achievements and contributions from 2018 to 2022 at both EU and national levels, underscoring the network's ongoing commitment to addressing complex challenges related to migration and asylum.

Myria, the Federal Migration Centre and independent national rapporteur on trafficking in human beings, published its independent and public annual report "A chain of responsibilities" on 19 December 2023.

This ad hoc query identifies which EMN Member Countries foresee an obligation for the employer to secure adequate accommodation for migrant workers, other than seasonal workers. It examines whether this obligation applies to certain types of permits, what criteria make it possible to define adequate housing, what proof is required in this regard and what possible sanctions are foreseen against employers who don't provide adequate housing.

Under the endorsement of the EMN Platform on Statelessness, this ad hoc query explores the legal framework and practice of EMN Member Countries to prevent stateless persons from receiving social and healthcare benefits in multiple countries simultaneously.

Within the framework of the Return Expert Group (REG), this ad hoc query aims to identify innovative collaborations related to multistakeholder governance. The focus is on partnerships between national authorities, local authorities, and civil society organizations to facilitate information sharing, guidance, and case resolution for migrants with return decisions or those remaining undocumented and off the radar of national authorities.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia is currently looking into supporting activities that provide innovative approaches to promote integration, taking into account the existing experience of libraries implementing projects for inclusive society. This ad hoc query examines the experiences from other EMN Member Countries with libraries implementing activities in the field of integration and social inclusion for third-country nationals.

In its annual report, the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons (CGRS) provides a global overview of asylum figures for the year 2022. The report also focuses on international aspects as well as on the training and well-being of the staff.

The 2023 edition of International Migration Outlook analyses recent developments in migration movements and the labour market inclusion of immigrants in OECD countries. It also monitors recent policy changes in migration governance and integration in OECD countries. This edition includes two special chapters on the labour market integration of migrant mothers and on fertility patterns among migrant populations in OECD countries. The Outlook also includes country notes and a detailed statistical annex.

The Finnish Immigration Service is setting up an internal organisational development project to enhance process management and quality assurance. Therefore, the Immigration Service enquired from EMN Member Countries about cross-sectoral support for immigration processes.
