In 2016 almost 1200 humanitarian visa were issued by the Belgian authorities, most of them to Syrians. But what do we know about these visa and the profiles of the people who received one?

Myria, the Belgian Federal Migration Centre, analyzed the existing material, the visa database of the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs and conducted a number of interviews with stakeholders. The paper aims to shed some light on an issue that is little known about.
