The Decree of 29 June 2016 of the Government of the French Speaking Community entered into force on 15 September 2016.

The main changes are:

  • Procedure split into two: choice between a full academic equivalence (level and field of studies) and an equivalence of the level only (which does not mention the field of studies).
  • Costs lowered for graduates from certain countries.
  • Procedure adapted to refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection (e.g. costs or documents to be presented).
  • Different procedures for the equivalence of diplomas in order to work (competence of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation) or to study (competence of the educational establishments).

The Decree can be consulted here.
