The Belgian State Secretary for Asylum Policy and Migration, Theo Francken, carried out information/prevention missions in Albania (in April) and in Georgia (in June). One of the aims of these visits was to inform Albanian and Georgian citizens about migration to Belgium. The State Secretary argued - inter alia - that Albania and Georgia are included on the Belgian list of safe countries of origin, and the likelihood of Albanian and Georgian nationals being granted international protection in Belgium is thus low.
