This progress report describes the activities undertaken and publications released by the EMN Platform on Statelessness, in cooperation with strategic partners, from May 2016 until November 2017.

This EMN study analyses the measures in place at (Member) State level to fight against the illegal employment of (regularly and irregularly staying) third-country nationals, possible obstacles in this field and strategies and good practices to overcome them.

Today, the Belgian Contact Point of the European Migration Network published a new national report on Family Reunification of Third Country Nationals in Belgium. The report served as the Belgian contribution to an EU Synthesis report on the subject, which compares national policies and practices on the subject in 25 EU Member States and Norway.

The Belgian EMN NCP updated a report on protection statuses and published the report. The publication was presented on the EMN-national seminar on 60 years Geneva convention on October 14, 2011 which took place at Residence Palace in Brussels.

This study examines the impact of the visa policy on legal and illegal migration in Belgium. It is limited to nationals from third countries, with exception of family members of EU nationals or Belgians. Short-stay visas of max. 3 months and D visas for stays of more than 3 months are discussed

The final version of the Synthesis Report for the EMN Study on ‘Temporary and Circular migration: empirical evidence, current policy practice and future options in EU Member States’ has now been launched

The King Baudouin Foundation has organized between April 2010 to March 2011 different meetings gathering actors implicated by their personal or their professional background in the field of family reunification policies

EMN presents its synthesis report of the EMN study ‘Satisfying Labour Demand through Migration ’. Source of this publication are the different national studies, carried out in 2010 by the National Contact Points (NCP's) of the EMN.

In this study the existence of, the policy on and the future options of temporary and circular migration in Belgium are examined.
