The paper examines the amendments to the Eurodac proposal proposed by the Council and the European Parliament and the connections between Eurodac and other CEAS reform proposals. 

In this paper, UNHCR sets out a vision for achieving a pragmatic and common approach to responding to refugees and migrants. The proposals can facilitate the development, over the long term, of EU-wide arrangements to address and respond to movements effectively.

On 18 March 2024, the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons (CGVS) and the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) co-organized a conference during which participants reiterated the need for greater convergence between Member States to achieve a fair and efficient asylum system.

This conference will provide legal practitioners with an update on the reform of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS) and the efforts undertaken to implement the New EU Pact on Migration. This year it will also tackle challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence and its implications for people on the move.

On the 24th and 25th of May, the Maltese EU Presidency hosted the EMN Annual Conference. This edition focused on the interesting topic of the reform of the Common European Asylum System.

On the 24th and 25th of May, the Maltese National Contact Point of the EMN organizes - in the framework of the Maltese Presidency of the European Council - the annual EMN conference. The conference will be dedicated to the following topic: the reform of the Common European Asylum System.

The Commission is today proposing a second set of proposals to reform the CEAS, focusing on the Asylum Procedures Directive, the Qualification Directive and the Reception Conditions Directive.

Studipolis, in co-operation with the Free University of Brussels, organises a morning lecture, treating the implementation in Belgian Law of the second phase of the CEAS.

This International Symposium will explore the ongoing challenges that Europe is facing to increase the practical cooperation between member states, especially in relation to the collection of measurable data on asylum seekers.
