This SVR policy brief, published jointly with the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, proposes a multi-factor model which is capable of calculating a fair reception quota for every Member State, based on publicly available official data.

The Dublin transnational network project co-ordinated by Forum Réfugiés -Cosi in collaboration with ECRE, the Hungarian Helsinki Committee and national partners published a comparative report on the Dublin application in several EU member states.

The Court refined its case-law on the application of the Dublin Regulation, judging on the responsability of a Member State to examine an asylum application, in case of impossible transfer of the applicant.

Today, Wednesday 12 June, the European Parliament voted the final adoption of the asylum package. The new rules lay down common procedures for handling asylum applications and basic rights for asylum seekers.

The Justice and Home Affairs Council, including the Belgian Ministers Joëlle Milquet and Annemie Turtelboom, and State Secretary Maggie De Block, met on 6 and 7 December 2012. The ministers also discussed issues concerning Immigration and Asylum.
