Video on illegal employment of third country nationals in Belgium and the EU

To raise awareness about illegal employment of third-country nationals in Belgium and the EU, and to draw attention to the EMN studies on this subject, the Belgian Contact Point of the EMN has made a short video.

The Belgian Contact Point of the EMN conducted in 2017 a study on illegal employment of third-country nationals in Belgium. This study analyses the measures in place to tackle illegal employment of (regularly and irregularly staying) third-country nationals. In 22 other Member States a similar study has been conducted. All national studies were summarized in an EU synthesis report.

The main findings of the Belgian study were presented at a conference on 05.10.2017. During this conference the NGO’s PICUM and FAIRWORK Belgium (new name for OR.C.A.) gave their views on possible obstacles in this interesting field and strategies and good practices to overcome them. On 09.11.2017 the EMN and OECD organized a joint event on irregular employment from a more European perspective.

To raise awareness about illegal employment of third-country nationals in Belgium and the EU, and to draw attention to the EMN studies on this subject, the Belgian Contact Point made with the help of the communications department of the Belgian Federal Public Service Interior a short video.
