The decrease in UAM arrivals has led Fedasil to gradually adjust its reception capacity in recent years. This approach is part of the Agency’s policy of maintaining dynamic buffer capacity, as set out in its 2025–2030 management plan. Under this policy, accommodation places can be activated, deactivated or converted according to changes in reception needs, allowing the Agency to adjust capacity without systematically opening or closing reception centres.

Currently, Fedasil’s network has around 2.500 accommodation places for UAMs. The 560 places concerned will be deactivated in centres managed both by Fedasil and by its reception partners. Some of the places will be converted into accommodation for families or single adults, in response to the needs of other groups. 

The reduction in UAM capacity will require a reduction in staffing levels and may result in redundancies where internal reassignment is not possible. Fedasil has put in place support for the teams and staff concerned.
