EUMAGINE conference: The role of democracy and human rights perceptions in constructing migration aspirations towards Europe

The EUMAGINE project studied how Europe is perceived from outside the EU, and how these perceptions affect migration aspirations and decisions. A round-up conference is organized on 23 January 2013 in Brussels to present the project's main results and policy considerations.

About the Project

The project focused on how people’s perceptions on democracy and human rights – in relation to their regions and countries of origin as well as places abroad – affect their perceptions on and attitudes to migration.

  • CeMIS - University of Antwerp (UA), Belgium - Coordinator
  • Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS), University of Oxford, United Kingdom
