EMN Finland National Conference: Towards a shared vision for Finland’s future immigration policy
The EMN Finland 2026 National Conference will bring together policymakers, public authorities, researchers and representatives of organisations to discuss the development of a shared, long-term vision for Finland’s immigration policy. Against the background of demographic change, labour market needs and wider societal challenges, the conference will explore how immigration policy can be better integrated across different policy areas and how a more coherent and efficient immigration administration can be achieved.
What
Organised by the Finnish National Contact Point of the European Migration Network (EMN), the conference will focus on developing a shared, long-term vision for Finland’s immigration policy and promoting a more coherent and efficient immigration administration.
Against the background of an ageing population, a rising dependency ratio and growing reliance on immigration to sustain the population and labour force, the event will examine the challenges and opportunities associated with immigration. It will also address the different perspectives reflected in public debate, including economic, demographic, security, social and humanitarian considerations.
The conference will bring together decision-makers, civil servants, researchers and representatives of organisations to discuss how immigration policy can be approached as a cross-cutting issue, taking into account its links with labour market policy, integration, security and external relations.
The conference aims to encourage dialogue between different stakeholders and identify common ground for shaping Finland’s immigration policy in the years ahead.

The conference will take place at Scandic Helsinki Hub, Annankatu 18, Helsinki, Finland.
