EMN Annual Conference in the framework of the Bulgarian EU presidency: Crossroads of migration
On the 31st of May and 1st of June, the Bulgarian Contact Point of the EMN - in the framework of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council - organized the EMN Annual Conference. The conference was dedicated to challenges and success factors in managing migration flows.
The 2018 EMN Annual Conference hosted by the Bulgarian presidency organised in Sofia aimed to identify the common challenges and success factors in managing migration flows.
The focus was on the management of the external borders, effective cooperation regarding irregular migration, and management of secondary movements of migrants.
The Conference gathered representatives of EU Member States, the European Commission, international organizations, national experts and academia. It provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions, best practices and lessons learned were presented, and new trends in the policies and practices of migration management were discussed.
