In this paper, UNHCR sets out a vision for achieving a pragmatic and common approach to responding to refugees and migrants. The proposals can facilitate the development, over the long term, of EU-wide arrangements to address and respond to movements effectively.

In an attempt to gain a greater understanding of the situation facing stateless people in Belgium, UNHCR undertook this interdisciplinary research project which examines socio-demographic and legal aspects of statelessness.

The UNHCR 2011 Global Trends report has been published today. The report analyses the statistical trends and changes in the global populations of concern to UNHCR, i.e. refugees, returnees, stateless persons and certain groups of internally displaced persons (IDPs).
