This study, commissioned by the European Parliament's Policy Department for Citizens' Rights and Constitutional Affairs at the request of the LIBE Committee, describes the practices and approaches in all EU Member States as regards the prevention and eradication of statelessness.

In an attempt to gain a greater understanding of the situation facing stateless people in Belgium, UNHCR undertook this interdisciplinary research project which examines socio-demographic and legal aspects of statelessness.
