The Organisation of Asylum and Migration Policies in Belgium (EMN)

This study describes and analyzes the various aspects of the asylum and immigration policies in Belgium. It also examines lessons learned and future developments in this field.

About the study:

Belgium has reformed its asylum and immigration policies several times in recent decades, in order to transpose EU directives and adapt national policies to new political choices and realities. These reforms among others concerned the asylum procedure, regularization and return. Various actors expressed divergent views on asylum and immigration issues raised by these developments, which are discussed in detail in this study.
