Conditions of Entry and Residence of Third Country Highly-Skilled Workers in Belgium (EMN)

What is the Belgian approach towards highly skilled workers from third countries? This study examines in detail the selection criteria, admission requirements, procedures for issuing work permits and the available data on the subject.

About this study:

Highly skilled workers and managers are granted a quarter of work permits delivered in Belgium. A large proportion of them are working as computer specialists or related occupations and they are from industrialized countries. Various actors are involved in the debate to discuss issues of eligibility, recruitment, training, job opportunities, transparency and efficiency and coordination.
