In 2020 the EMN has conducted a study on “Comparative overview of national protection statuses in the EU and Norway”.

National protection statuses address protection needs that are not covered by the international protection statuses harmonised at EU level (refugee status and subsidiary protection).

With the help of EMN Ireland, EMN Belgium has made a short video (below) which explores the main types of national protection statuses, and presents the key findings of this study.
