Myria, the Belgian Federal Migration Centre, is recruiting a policy officer to work for the Belgian Contact Point of the European Migration Network (EMN).

Myria, the Federal Migration Centre, is recruiting a policy officer for the Belgian Contact Point of EMN. Myria is an independent public institution with three mandates: promoting the fight against trafficking and smuggling of human beings, informing the authorities about the nature and extent of migratory flows and protecting the fundamental rights of foreign nationals. Myria is partner in the Belgian Contact Point of the European Migration Network.

What is the European Migration Network? A European network, established by Council Decision 2008/381/EC, whose aim is to provide up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on migration and asylum to support policymaking in the EU. It also provides the general public with such information.

At EU level, the EMN is composed of National Contact Points (EMN NCPs) appointed in each Member State plus Norway, under the coordination of the European Commission.

In Belgium, the national contact point is multi-institutional and includes staff members from the:

  • FPS Interior (provides coordination), including the
    • Immigration Office, and the
    • Office of Commissioner General for Refugees & Stateless Persons
  • Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers, and
  • Myria, the Federal Migration Centre.
