GFMD Forum Meeting: Unlocking the potential of migration for inclusive development (Stockholm)

The 7th Meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) will take place in Stockholm on 14-16 May 2014. The GFMD Civil Society Days are held prior to the meeting, on 12-13 May 2014.

What

GFMD Civil Society Days

More than 250 civil society organizations from over 75 countries (from diaspora and migrant organizations, human rights and development groups, labour unions and academia and the private sector) have been selected to take part in the Civil Society Days of the Global Forum on Migration and Development. They will concentrate on the overarching theme of "Shaping Migration & Development Goals: global movement, change on the ground".

7th GFMD Meeting

The focus of the 2014 GFMD meeting will be on the substantive themes of:

  • Integrating migration in global, regional and national development agendas
  • Migration as an enabler for inclusive economic development
  • Migration as an enabler for inclusive social development.

Issues related to the improvment of the GFMD as a process will also be discussed.

When

The GFMD Civil Society Days will be held on 12 - 13 May 2014.
The Common Space with Governments will be held on 14 May 2014.
The 7th GFMD meeting will take place on 15-16 May 2014.

At the Münchenbryggeriet Conference Centre in Stockholm, Sweden.
