Under the 11th European Development Fund (2014-2020), the EU is supporting Niger with a national allocation of €596 million, which is one of the highest amounts per capita among African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.

The €596 million funding budget will be distributed as follows:
€180 million for food security, nutrition and resilience.
€200 million for reinforcing state capacities to deliver social services.
€100 million for security, governance and consolidation of peace.

These funds will also support Niger to better manage migration flows, through improved border management and increased support to fight against trafficking and smuggling networks.

€90 million for road access to areas affected by insecurity and conflict.

Support to these sectors is underpinned by support for civil society (€16m) and institutional strengthening of the relevant ministries and public institutions, including the National Audit Office (€10m).
