EMN Annual Conference: Irregular Migration and Return: Challenges and Practices (2 days, Athens)
This year, the EMN Conference aims to support the policymaking process on a number of key areas of irregular migration policy, namely readmission, return, reintegration and cooperation with countries of transit and origin, as well as re-entry bans and (alternatives to) detention.
What?
The Hellenic Presidency and the EMN organize the 2014 EMN Conference on "Irregular Migration and Return: Challenges and Practices". The discussions will focus on:
- EU cooperation for effective return: challenges and practices in cooperation measures
- EU cooperation for effective return: the external dimension – readmission and cooperation with countries of transit and origin
- Incentives for return and reintegration
- Alternatives to detention: balancing risks and fundamental rights
During the Conference, EMN will present Its two new studies on "Good practices in the return and reintegration of irregular migrants: Member States' entry bans policy and use of readmission agreements between EU Member States and third countries" and "Detention and Alternatives to Detention".
