CGRS publishes Data on Asylum Applications for May 2011
Every month, the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons publishes a document containing the statistics on the asylum applications and the decisions taken.
The number of asylum applications, the principal nationalities involved, the number and nature of the decisions, as well as the evolution of the workload can be consulted in the monthly statistics document.
In May 2011, 1.944 asylum applications were registered by the CGRS, of which 1.590 were first applications and 438 multiple applications.
In May 2011, the top three countries of origin were Afghanistan, Guinea and Kosovo.
The CGRS also presents its statistical overview of the past years.
