On 27–28 October 2026, the European Migration Network (EMN) participated in the first European Peer-Learning Platform on Alternatives to Detention (ATD), organised by the International Detention Coalition (IDC) in Madrid, Spain. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange practical experiences and approaches to alternatives to immigration detention, a topic of particular relevance to the work of the EMN Return Expert Group (REG).
