The governance of integration of immigrants in EU Member States is a complex process involving actors across multiple policy areas at national, local, and supranational levels of administration.

This EMN Inform provides an overview of the main developments that took place in 2011 within the Global Approach to Migration and Mobility (GAMM) objective of maximising the development impact of migration and mobility.

On 12-13 January, the EMN conference gathered over 200 participants to provide impetus for the implementation of the EU Action Plan against Smuggling. The conference resulted in concrete recommendations to better address migrant smuggling.
