Update of reference amounts for the crossing of the external borders: Belgium's requirements

The last update of reference amounts for the crossing of the external borders has been published in the EU Official Journal on 13 December 2014. Belgium’s requirements are outlined.

The publication of reference amounts for the crossing of the external borders is based on the information communicated by the Member States to the Commission. This update modifies the information published in the Official Journal of 13 October 2006.

As from 13 December 2014, migrants should demonstrate the availability of adequate means of subsistence according to the administrative practice described in the Official Journal publication.

Means of subsistence requirements differ according to whether the foreigner is staying with a private individual (approximately EUR 45 for each day of the planned stay in Belgium) or in a hotel (approximately EUR 95 for each day of the planned stay in Belgium) .
