International Migrants Day - Myria focuses on gender and migration

On this International Migrants Day, Myria examines differences in gender related issues in migration, and provides key statistics in this matter.

Myria publishes today the 6th Myriatics which explores migration from a gender perspective. Women represent almost the half of international migrants in the world and this informative tool helps better understand who these women are.

Key statistics are presented including the number of declared entries according to gender from 1992 until 2015, the proportion of women according to nationality, the proportion of women using family reunification as a legal channel to enter the country, the percentage of women among asylum seekers, those granted international protection, and the proportion of foreign women having acquired Belgian nationality.
