First Issue of the Migration and Environment Newsletter

The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) starts tri-annually publishing a newsletter that provides regular updates on the progresses and achievements in the context of migration and environment.

First page of the first issue of the migration & environment newsletter

The Migration & Environment Newsletter aims at both informing the policy debate and facilitating the exchange of information in order to maximise the impact of reliable research findings related to the links between migration and environmental degradation.

According to ICMPD, the issue has to be taken up coherently at national, regional and international levels. The circle of people working on this issue must be consolidated but also broadened in order to include other actors who could make a valuable contribution to the ongoing debate. In parallel, communication tools to foster exchange of information have to be developed.

This first issue provides:

  • a summary of the latest developments
  • a MEP perspective on the upcoming EC staff working paper on migration and climate change
  • information on the Nansen Initiative
  • recent publications
  • upcoming events
  • useful links

Please access Issue 1 of the Newsletter and subscribe to it on the ICMPD website.
