English Edition of the Centre's Annual Report 'Trafficking in /and Smuggling of Human Beings 2009'
The Centre for Equal Opportunities and Opposition to Racism (Centre) publishes the English version of its Annual Report on Trafficking & Smuggeling 2009, which was published in French and Dutch in October 2010
About the Report:
The focus of this year’s report is trafficking in human beings for the purposes of labour exploitation. In particular it looks into the (il)legal constructions that result from the free movement of persons and services which may lead to facts of trafficking in human beings.
From an analysis of case files in which the Centre has brought civil action as well as from interviews with several actors on the field, it appears that traffickers in human beings often set up or use judicial constructions (legal, semi legal and illegal).
