The Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM) together with Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE), invite you to join a discussion on how the European Union can ensure the rights of undocumented migrant children and their families.

1. What?

As children's rights are largely absent from migration policies and practices, and in the light of the adoption of the European Parliament's report on the situation of unaccompanied minors in the EU, the event aims to facilitate further dialogue about the challenges faced by children in an irregular migration situation and strategies to improve their situation, addressing the following key challenges as key priorities:

  • Ensuring access to services, protection and justice for children in an irregular migration situation; and
  • ending the immigration detention of children.
