Payoke, Pag-Asa and Sürya recognized as specialized centres for the reception of victims of trafficking in human beings

Today the Royal Decree, signed by Ms Maggie de Block and Ms Annemie Turtelboom on 18 April 2013, recognizing Pakoke, Pag-Asa and Sürya as specialized centres for the reception of victims of trafficking in human beings, was published in the Belgian Official Gazette.

The Royal Decree from 18 April 2013, published in the Belgian Official Gazette on 22 May 2013, determines the conditions and the procedure for reception centers to be recognized as specialized centers for victims of trafficking in human beings and for them to be authorized to take legal actions to defend the rights of victims. Such centers will be considered as contact points as foreseen in Article 61/2 of the Aliens Law.

The recognition of centers specialized in the reception and support to victims of trafficking is provided for in the government agreement and is part of the action plan against trafficking in human beings.
