The Immigration Office must provide lawyers with the contact details of its employees
The Flemish Bar Association obtained in court that the Immigration Office provide lawyers with a detailed organisation chart allowing them to enter directly into contact with the employees handling the cases they are defending.
The Immigration Office publishes general contact details for the various services on its website. However, the lawyers requested the contact details of the employees handling their cases to better communicate and assist their clients in immigration law cases.
The Flemish Bar Association obtained this in court and the Immigration Office has now until 15 November 2023 to comply with this judgment. It has indicated that it will comply with the requirements.
