Annual Report on Asylum and Migration Policy in Belgium and in the EU in 2015 (EMN)

The EMN annual policy report provides an overview of the major developments in the field of migration and asylum in Belgium and in the EU in 2015.

This is the 12th Annual Policy Report of the European Migration Network (EMN). It covers the period January-December 2015.

The Belgian National Contact Point of the EMN drafted a national Annual Policy Report. All other National Contact Points to the EMN also produced an Annual Policy Report for their (Member) State. On the basis of these national contributions, a comparative Synthesis Report was produced at the European level.

The national report and the EU synthesis report provide an insight into the most significant political and legislative developments in the area of migration and asylum over the course of the reference year in Belgium and in the EU respectively, and include relevant statistics. The reports also provide information on the most important debates at the political level and/or within wider society, as well as on the implementation of EU legislation.

More specifically, the reports focus on the following subjects:

  • Legal migration and mobility
  • International protection
  • Unaccompanied minors and other vulnerable groups
  • Countering trafficking in human beings
  • Migration and development
  • Irregular migration including smuggling
  • Return

The reports are available in English.
