ELENA course: Credibility assessment in asylum claims (3 days, Madrid)

This ELENA course will inter alia focus on the conceptual framework of credibility assessment, limits of memory, impact of trauma, intercultural barriers, linguistic barriers, gender related issues and the impact of decision makers.

What

The Hungarian Helsinki Committee, the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) and the European Legal Network on Asylum (ELENA) have organised an ELENA course on ‘credibility assessment in asylum claims’. The course, which will be in English, is for NGO legal practitioners, lawyers, decision makers and staff of national asylum authorities, researchers and those working in international and non-governmental organisations which specialise in asylum law. The event is partially funded by the European Commission as part of the “Building Credibility” (CREDO 2) project, with the support of the UNHCR Bureau for Europe.

Costs

Participation in the course is free of charge. Moreover, due to the support of the European Refugee Fund, limited subsidies are available to cover the cost of accommodation, meals and travel for a limited number of participants.
